I’m a teacher again!

Today was my first day of teaching, and I’m so excited to be in the classroom again!

I’m at Li Ming High School, about forty minutes outside of Tainan, Taiwan. We are staying in the dorms with the students, which has its pros and cons (Cons: communal showers; Pros: being surrounded by excited students 24/7).

My students today had mid-level English, but high level enthusiasm. We played lots of ice breaker games, and I answered a lot of questions about my nose ring. My morning homeroom class was a little slow on the uptake for most of my games, so I gave them a drawing activity for awhile. That let them chat with each other without making them feel too nervous to speak to me in English right away. Then I went around and chatted with them individually. We talked about food and classes and colors. My afternoon class was great! They were rambunctious and giggly. I’m looking forward to the rest of this week. 

Now, time for a shower. Gotta get this sweat offa me.
